MACRA - Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act
MACRA is part of a broader push towards value and quality and is a bipartisan legislation signed into law on April 16, 2015. Per CMS, Title 1 of MACRA repeals the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) Formla, it changes the way that Medicare rewards clinicians for value over volume, it streamlines multiple qulity programs under the new Merit Based Incentive Payments (MIPS) and it provides bonus payments for participation in eligible alternative payment models (APMS).

According to CMS, ultimately the goals of MACRA are to offer multiple pathways with varying levels of risk and reward for providers to tie more of their payments to value. Contact our office or join one of our FREE Webinars to learn more.
